2015-2016 Annual Budget Drive

Your Church final

The Annual Budget Drive is the primary means by which we raise the money necessary to pay our Ministers and Staff, and fund our Music, Religious Education, Youth, and Social Justice programs, the maintenance of our unique building and grounds, and the many other activities of this congregation. Timely pledges enable our Board of Trustees and program groups to effectively plan and organize for the upcoming year.

Pledging lets the other members of this congregation know that you are committed to your role in our community. A successful budget drive demonstrates broad-based support for the important work of our congregation, among our neighbors and beyond in the wider world. No matter what you give, your participation is vital.

“The only gift is a portion of thyself.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The theme of this year’s Annual Budget Drive is “IT’S [Y]OUR CHURCH.”

Let’s talk about…

…why we raise money… to fund our vision of what we can and want to be.

…our personal financial commitment… making it part of our covenant, our spiritual practice.

…how we talk to one another about money… making connections and building community through one-on-one conversations.

Why now?
This interim year is a unique opportunity for us to re-examine our commitment to the Church and its impact on our lives. Read Five Reasons Why We Should Give Generously to the Church This Year.

How much should I give?
Each of us should consider what the Unitarian Church in Westport means to us. Then we can strive to find where we belong on the pdfSuggested Fair Share Giving Guide (recommended by the UUA).  This calls us to give seriously and equitably based on our values, our commitment, and our capacity.  If we can’t give at these levels this year, we can plan to move toward doing so in an intentional way over time.

For more information, read the complete pdf 2015-2016 Annual Budget Drive Brochure.
