The other night I had a dream that I was at church, looking out the window, and strolling down the pathway to the parking lot was a huge elephant. The elephant has a different meaning for each of us. What it means to me (and I’m pretty certain I’m right about this) is: we need to have a party.
In the Stewardship Committee we’ve been saying our purpose is to Educate and Celebrate. (We haven’t got the rest of it worked out quite yet, but it’s coming.) On Sunday, November 3, we will fulfill part of our purpose. Our First Annual Stewardship Potluck last October was a blast. This year the plan is much the same: great food, music, and togetherness – and some surprises.
There are many ways we can support our church while supporting one another. So while we ponder what stewardship means to each of us, let’s have a party. We can’t promise elephant rides but we hope to be together and have a great time.
Please bring an appetizer, salad, main course, or dessert.
