Position Description: As leader of the Lifelong Faith Formation (LFF or LFD) Ministry at TUCW, the Assistant Minister for Faith Formation will provide dynamic and effective leadership in the area of faith formation for all congregants, of all ages and stages, in collaborative relationship with colleagues, staff and volunteers in a direction consistent with the Mission of TUCW and UU Values and Principles. This position is salaried full time, with pay consistent with UUA Fair Share guidelines. Benefits are provided, including contribution towards health care, pension plan and professional development. Job Requirements:
- Ordained Unitarian Universalist Minister in at least Preliminary Fellowship
- Experience in education
- Experience organizing and managing volunteers and small teams
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize to manage projects successfully from start to finish

Responsibilities:
- Develops, plans and prepares Lifespan Faith Formation curriculum
- Oversees the Elementary, Middle School OWL, Coming Of Age, Youth Group, Adult Faith Formation, and Small Group Ministry and other Faith Formation groups
- Responsible for staffing for Sunday morning supervision of the children and youth faith formation programs
- Works with the ministerial colleagues to develop intergenerational services and programs
- Recruits, trains, supports, develops and organizes LFF volunteers
- Manages the LFF budgets, expenses, records, supplies, support staff and equipment
- Publicizes the LFF Program within and beyond the congregation
- Works collaboratively with the LFF Councils, Small Group Ministry and other groups building upon its existing programs and developing future goals, while staying within the resources and mission of the church
- Attends meetings of the LFF Council, Church Board, Ministers and staff, as required
- Communicates and coordinates with other church staff and committees, as needed
- Provides pastoral care for children and families
- Preaches occasionally during worship services
- Attends appropriate trainings, conferences and workshops that support his/her work and professional development
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport is a dynamic congregation of over 500 adults, children and youth. The church is widely known as a leader in our movement. Members include past UUA Board members and a former Moderator. Eighteen UU ministers have found their first calling from this congregation in its Seventy year history. The congregation has a dynamic presence in the larger community and is known for its commitment to social justice employing a Director of Social Justice. The Assistant Minister will join three other ministers and a dynamic team of director level and support staff.
