Dear UU Westport,
What a happy and hopeful day last Sunday! You were so kind to me, not to mention superb with your pentatonic scale singing! I am not worried about you! As for me, I am already starting to feel a little better. I slept well last night for the first time in a long while. I’m trying very hard not to worry about what all needs to get done before Sunday. It will take time to ignore those ongoing daily to-do lists spinning in my head. It seems like the spinning, however, is easing.
I want to express my profound gratitude for the gifts you gave me. First, the shawl! I have never been a shawl person before, but to receive one is a big deal, and I know that. Thank you Cathy Paine, creator of my shawl. Not many people have a shawl from the TUUCW Shawl Ministry.
I thank the children and youth for all the sweet cards I got. I had hoped to send a personal thank you to each young person, but that seems a little daunting at present. I think I’ll wait a while.
Whoever gave me gift cards to Aldi, the best place to grocery shop, thank you! Next time, don’t use plastic!
Thank you, Esa O’Reilly for making a “Nate the Great” video. That must have taken a long time! It is wonderful! Well done!
I’d like to thank Crosby Staub for his awesome speech. Where did all that poise and confidence come from? I am so impressed. I also want to thank Pete Manwaring for being there next to me, leaning his head on my shoulder and comforting me. I never got a chance to tell you how much I appreciated and needed that!
I want to thank the youth group for just being with me after we left the service. It was so helpful and healing. There was a lot of love coming from many directions. I felt it. I don’t think I will miss the job, frankly, but I will miss you very much.
Thank you and carry on!
Nate
