As we begin our Capital Campaign and imagine the possibilities before us, we are excited to launch a collaborative project to gather and share members’ thoughts and feelings about our iconic, spiritual home. This is a time to express all of our inner-artistries!
Pictures tell their own stories. Between now and November 1, we invite all of us to stroll throughout the building and grounds: be observant and reflect on what you’re experiencing, how this affects your spiritual and community life, and why, specifically, this building is important to you. Bring your phone or camera as you look for inspirational images that reflect your feelings about our beloved community and take lots of pictures. Encourage your children to find cool shots, too! Let’s remind ourselves and each other why the Unitarian Church in Westport occupies such an important place in our hearts.
Written words can add insight. As you collect these pictures, feel free to add written personal statements about your images. These could be poems (you write it, or you found it and it connected with you), meaningful phrases, sentences, or even short paragraphs. We will display these alongside your pictures.
Start now! Start sending your submissions now, and we’ll share them with the congregation on a rotating basis as the fall progresses. We’ll share these images in a slide presentation later in November. And we’ll have them for the future as part of our growing photo library.
