Lynda Shannon (2018)
Lynda joined TUCW 25 years ago after moving here from Southern California. She immediately immersed herself in committees and projects -‐ membership, finance, canvass, Green Sanctuary, and as Chair the 50th Anniversary of the congregation and church historian. She and her husband Paul Bluestein both sing in several choirs, and together taught in RE (OWL).
Lynda has also been very active in the denomination serving as President of the UU District of Metro NY, as president of the UUA’s District Presidents Association, and Chair of the General Assembly Planning Committee. Professionally Lynda has a nursing and public health background and was trained as a community organizer when she was a VISTA volunteer in the 1970s in Appalachia. She and Paul are now both retired and recently moved to Bridgeport. They have two grown children, Aimee who lives in Southport and Jacob who resides in the Denver area with his wife Mary Kate and twin daughters Abigail and Josie Shannon.
