Just what is this Neighborhood Circle thing about?
We live in a “disconnected world.” Most of us strive to be recognized and be part of something. The first goal of our neighborhood circles is to facilitate the attainment of this “connection.” Organized within specific geographical boundaries in our congregation …members in proximity to each other are invited to come together and connect. Out of these gatherings a sense of caring for one another often emerges naturally.
Our commonly held aspiration is the basis of our gathering in Neighborhood Circles. It is the intention of the effort that following connection, opportunities to both seek and offer care to each other will arise organically. In the natural progression of getting to know one another, love and service become the connective tissue of our congregation.
It’s about connecting…as neighbors and may include:
- Creative and inspiring social gatherings
- Opportunities to connect with your UU neighbors
- Pathways from isolation
- Visits, rides, meals
- Support during grief and change
- Calls and cards
Belonging …entails caring enough about others to be known and to know others.
We invite you to “be in your neighborhood” in a new way!
Care enough to connect!
