The last few years have been challenging, to say the least. We are a resilient community, but not without human limitations. In order to strengthen our aspiration to be a beloved community, the BOT has appointed this task force. Our forward process will be to identify the areas of greatest potential for our growth as a beloved community and to use our individual and collective strengths to bring this about. Healing and resilience will be the outcomes of this work together.
As a first step, the task force will be identifying the areas of most potential for positive growth within our congregation, towards moving on from recent conflicts. We will seek input from our congregation and guidance from outside professionals. We will have many opportunities as a congregation to come together in healing to generate resilience. The Talking Circles moderated by Pastoral Care were the first step on this journey. There will be transparency and inclusion every step of the way.
This task force initially consists of Luke Garvey and Stephen Grathwohl (Board of Trustees), Jenna McPartland (Committee on Ministries), and Jim Francek, Tom Hearne and Ravi Sankar (Pastoral Care). The composition of this group will change over time, including ministerial and lay persons. We ask you to keep your hearts open and assume the best of us and of each other.
More to come as we journey
