Rev. Roberta and the Transition team invite you to help create our History Wall. On Sundays January 19th and 26th and February 2nd you will find the History Wall on display in the sanctuary. It will begin as a bare bones timeline. There will be lots of ‘post-its’ available for you to write on. Tell us about important events in the life of the congregation, significant personal memories, funny stories, sad stories, times of change and transition. Once the History Wall is filled with your stories and memories we will take all that data, look for themes and commonalities, and use them to build programs and sermons later in the spring and beyond. You can also write your memories at home and send them electronically to Rev. Roberta for posting
In order for this exercise in sharing of memories to be a safe and open experience for everybody we ask that you all:
- Use “I” sentences. Write about what you saw, heard, and felt. Share your own memories.
- Sign your name. Mutual accountability means owning your piece of the history.
- People may have different and even conflicting recollections of the same event. That’s OK; this history is subjective, not objective.
- Write legibly!
