Dear Friends,
September 14 brought an unwelcome surprise when I was struck by a mild stroke. The days since have been focused on recovery and I feel fortunate that I can anticipate a full return. Currently I am in Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and they are thinking that I will be able to go home around October 17. Working with the wonderful therapists here, I’m making great progress every day.
During this time, I have been very aware of all your love and support. This has been a major source of strength for me. I appreciate all the cards and good wishes; they make a difference.
I am eager to return to my full-time responsibilities but I will give myself time to heal and ease back into my role. While I was in the hospital and now at Burke, I have been working on some aspects of our music program and I plan to do more once I am home. I am looking forward to committing more of my time, energy and dedication to fulfilling my responsibilities. In the meantime, thank you for your patience. And, I know you share my gratitude for the hard-working choirs and other musicians who are ensuring that we have the music we love for our worship services.
I miss you and I miss making music together. Keep sending all that great energy my way. It’s working!
Yours in faith,
Ed
