Bruce will discuss how in our efforts to build beloved community, we often forget love, or seem afraid of it and misunderstand what it is and how it can be used. He will quote Dr. Martin Luther King to show that “Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.” He will relate this message both to his life journey and to the work of the UNO.
