We march through this tunnel
This dark, everlasting tunnel
But I wonder
I wonder if the sun is rising
I wonder if the light is coming
This is for the best
That once we have marched through the tunnel to get to where we need to be
Maybe the sun will shine on our beautiful faces
Maybe this was the journey that we needed to reach our destination
That destination where everyone is beautiful
That destination where everyone is free
Where we can say, “I love you” without anyone saying “no”
Where my children and your children can be friends without people separating them
Where you can walk outside without being shot
Where people choose love over appearance
That is the light at the end of the tunnel
