Dear UUWestport Community,
We are sad to announce the death of The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport’s Minister Emeritus, Rev. Frank Alexander Hall, on March 17, 2026.
Rev. Frank transitioned from this life at the age of 85 with his wife Lory Nuremberg by his side. You can read a 2013 article about his ministry at UUWestport HERE. A celebration of his life will be at The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport, on Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 PM.
Rev. Frank Hall was called to this congregation in 1984, after serving a Unitarian Universalist church in Attleboro, Massachusetts, where he was ordained in 1972.
He had a Master of Theology degree from Boston University. His undergraduate degree is from Salem State College, and a Master’s in Education from Northeastern University in Boston. He taught at Wellesley High School from 1962-1969, when he entered seminary.
Frank is survived by his wife, Lory Nurenberg; his children, Jonathan and Susan; his stepdaughter, Carlyn Kessler; and his grandchildren, Alex and Hannah.
Please hold Rev. Frank’s family and dear friends in your hearts.
We offer you “Compassion,” a favorite poem of Rev. Frank’s by Miller Williams:
Have compassion for everyone you meet,
even if they don’t want it. What seems conceit,
bad manners, or cynicism is always a sign
of things no ears have heard, no eyes have seen.
You do not know what wars are going on
down there where the spirit meets the bone.
