Beardsley students in grades 3 – 6 met remarkable professionals during our fourth Career Day. This year’s group included the first female colonel to command the Marine Corps’ Camp Lejeune, the choir director of Sacred Heart University’s Gospel choir, a children’s book author of over 95 books, and a structural engineer who rappels buildings to inspect them. Children delighted in hearing the presenters’ stories and what they loved about their jobs, and the presenters loved meeting the Beardsley students. The goal of Career Day is always to help these young people consider what is possible for them in the future, and this year’s event provided inspiring possibilities! Special thanks to Sari Bodi and Beth Clift who arranged for our speakers.

Children’s book author, Christine Taylor-Butler and her editor, Eileen Robinson, answered questions about their careers in writing.

SHU Gospel Choir Director, Michael Whitney Brown, had everyone on their feet.

Sarah Sinusasa, a structural engineer (and Kim Fuch’s daughter!), demonstrated how to put on rappelling gear.
