Join us for an afternoon of contemporary a cappella with the Yale Alley Cats! Enjoy rich harmonies, wonderful music, and a lively performance from one of Yale University’s celebrated singing groups.

The Yale Alley Cats are an undergraduate a cappella group from Yale University, founded in 1943 when the group’s founders climbed Saybrook Tower and serenaded campus with “Sally in Our Alley,” which still opens every Alley Cats concert today. Now an 16-member tenor-bass ensemble, the Cats were the first Yale a cappella group to tour internationally and spend about two months each year on the road, with recent tours to Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, South Africa, and Hawaii. This year’s season includes a winter tour to Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Miami, a spring tour to China, and a summer tour of Europe.

The Alley Cats began as a jazz group and still perform standards from the American Songbook (Gershwin, Ellington, Porter), but the repertoire has grown to include Motown, soul, musical theater, and contemporary pop, from Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra to Harry Styles and Adele. Every one of our 200+ arrangements was written by a current or former Alley Cat. We tailor each set to the audience and event, and our shows are upbeat yet polished.

Recommended Ticket Donation $25. Tickets will also be available at the door, though advance purchases are encouraged.
