On Saturday, May 19th, 2007 was an historic special event in the history of The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport. That evening we learned how our church building got built from those who were part of the process. The program featured a panel discussion including members of the Board and Building Committee of 1958 – 1961, our then minister, the Rev. Arnold Westwood and the Manhattan architect Victor Lundy who designed this most amazing sacred space.
The day started with a brunch with Victor Lundy, followed by a light dinner and then the presentation.
On Sunday, May 20th, at both the 9 am and 11 am services, Victor Lundy and Rev. Arnold Westwood were on hand to recall and reflect on how it all came to be…and to rejoice in what we have grown to become.
